  28. to the inserted postscripts too (that's IMHO a Bad Thing). You can try

  37. where angel.eps is a bitmap (in my case the university logo). If you
  38. see it with xdvi with ps capability the logo have his natural size,
  39. and the same things happen if you covert it to ps with dvips 5.511,
  40. but if you use dvips 5.58f the angel will show up 4 time bigger...

  49. Global magnification *must* affect included PS files; this is something
  50. I've been arguing for years.  Otherwise the -x option doesn't work, and
  51. dvidvi (and other pagination/scaling software) doesn't work.  If he
  52. wants his angel to appear at a particular size independent of 
  53. magnification, all he has to do is specify what that size is (in epsfxsize)
  54. as a truept parameter and all will be fine.

  60.         I can be IMO in accord with the filosofic thing that
  61. \magnification in TeX document will work with included postscript
  62. too. I will correct the angel situation :-) simply addind a truept
  63. specificacion in the call but... now we have a problem of
  64. coordination: xdvi shows a page layout that generally is different 
  65. to the printed page. I know, I know, i can use gv but it is so slow 
  66. on old machines :-).  
  67.         Well, if you have any hints... what about a flag in config.ps 
  68. BROKEN_INCLUSION_COMPATIBILITY? Only as a suggestion... I will forward

  78. Oh, I wasn't aware that xdvi did it differently.  Please do forward the
  79. message to the xdvi maintainer and tell him/her that I would be delighted
  80. to help in any way . . . it's important that dvips and xdvi work well
  81. together . . .

  89. So now I ask to you for a possible solution. The real big problem is
  90. not if you have to specify or not the size with truesomething in your
  91. source, but that my little file above with or without magnification
  92. show up identical in xdvi (well, the pagenumber is different of
  93. course), and then the printed page from dvips look really different.
